University starts on Monday and as excited as I am, I’m pretty damn nervous. It took me a whole year to decide whether I wanted to go back or not and I was still having doubts up until last week! I weighed the pros and cons and decided to go for it. My only one big worry is that I don’t know how I’ll manage my blog…

I want to start off this post by thanking Beara Beara for two reasons. 1. For sending me one of the most beautiful bags I’ve ever received throughout my blogging career and 2. For rekindling my love for vintage. Beara Beara are a brand based in London who design beautiful vintage inspired leather bags, they are then handcrafted by an ever so talented craftsmen in Bolivia! The bags are made by using robust natural leather and you can see that a lot of time, dedication and passion has gone into creating these unique bags.

You guys know I’m a sucker for backpacks so when I saw the Beara Beara Alex backpack I knew it just had to be mine. The bag is so spacious but still looks incredibly stylish, it will definitely come in handy for university when I need to carry my books around! Everything about the backpack I love! the shape, the colour, the smell of the leather, the lined tartan inside and the cutest little key that comes with it so you can lock and unlock the backpack! and if that isn’t enough, it’s even embedded with my initials, it really is a special little bag. I can’t wait to see this bag get better with age and I can already see that it’s going to last me a life time! P.s you can get 15% one week discount using my code ‘stylewithstarr’

10 things I (wouldn’t) want to live without

FASHION, LIFESTYLE

Hey hey! I wanted to create a quick and fun post so I decided to do a post on things I (wouldn’t) want to live without. I put ‘wouldn’t’ in brackets because I’ve seen posts before on ‘Things I couldn’t live without’ and when I was planning this post, which was originally going to be ’10 things I couldn’t live without’ I realised that most of my answers, realistically, I could 100% live without. Lets be honest, It’s clear that I won’t survive without water but I definitely could survive without pizza (even though that would be a miserable life) So, here’s my 10!

Pen and paper – There’s something so old school about pen and paper! In a world focused around phones and technology, there’s something that excites me about pen and paper. It takes seconds to send a text to a friend/loved one but a hand written letter is the best gift you could ever receive. Postcards, hand written to do lists, paper diary’s and calendars! (pls never get rid of these precious things)

My Cat – An absolute obvious one! you know how much I love my cats. Cats are the best company (when they want to be haha) and they are just the cutest little fur babies!! I could write some more about cats but it’s probably best that I don’t, because once I start I wont stop…

My gold cat necklace – I told you I wouldn’t stop! My best friend bought me a cat necklace for my 21st birthday and I’ve had it on ever since. If I forget to put it on I feel completely naked!! like I may as well not be wearing any knickers.

Q&A | Fashion, Confidence, Skincare & Photo editing

Q: What is your favourite item of clothing ever?

A: It would have to be my vintage velvet floral 1950’s dress! Someone who was a big part of my life at the time bought it for me on my birthday and it’s the most gorgeous dress ever! It’s something I would only wear on special occasions.

Q: What is your ideal writing environment?

A: In bed pls. haha no, let’s be realistic here! Either at my home desk with a brew or in a quiet cafe somewhere.

Q: What is your skin care routine?

A: For a very long time I didn’t have a proper skin care routine but now I feel like I’ve got my shit together and my skin is thanking me for it. I make sure I always take my make up off before bed, cleanse, tone and moisturise. I only exfoliate once a week as my skin is on the sensitive and I use glycolic acid products which I highly recommend! Glycolic acid helps with acne, fine lines, sun damage, uneven texture, oiliness and gets rid of dead skin cells to reveal brighter and smoother skin.

Q: How would you describe your personal style?

A: This is always a hard question for me because I don’t have a personal style, my style can change from day-to-day. I actually written a post all about not having a personal style, you can read it here.

Take time yourself

A few days ago I had a bit of a crazy moment. I shut down my laptop, turned off my phone and cried. I couldn’t even watch the TV! Social media had got too much for me and on top of everything else it really took it’s toll on my anxiety. I had forgotten the last time I had took some time out for myself to just go for a walk or read a book, I was constantly on my phone replying to emails, catching up on Instagram, over working on my laptop as well as trying to reply to every single message right away. Now that’s not healthy. I began to miss deadlines for collaborations and for us bloggers this means missing out on money and having to explain yourself too, ANOTHER thing I had to worry about. I was getting very little sleep because I would stay up working until the early hours and then because I was looking at blue light for so long my brain was tricked into thinking it was day time. I would then put something on Netflix until I eventually would fall asleep to waking up feeling like I had been on a 5 day bender in Ibiza!! (maybe a little exaggeration but I sure felt that way haha)

3 DAYS | 3 LOOKS | TRAMLINES FESTIVAL

FASHION

Hey hey! I’ve been trying to find a wifi that works all day as my internet is down at home.. I’ve had everything from a KFC Krushem, Greggs tea, McDonalds Frappe and now currently sipping on a cup of tea in Ezra &Gil ahhhh! So, I’m kindly being sent away to Tramlines Festival as a #FesticketInsider this weekend, a festival I haven’t been to yet but a festival that always has a great line up! To be honest, I’ve got the best line up this year because Libertines!! oh and Primal Scream! And we can’t forget the This Feeling line up, a line up of the best up and coming bands. Also Sheffield is pretty great and our air bnb has a cat so I’m pretty much in for the best weekend. I thought I would take you along with me starting with some festival outfit ideas. They are three very different looks but ideal for rain or shine!

Look 1.

The boho chic is a popular festival look and is continuously seen on the likes of Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. The white crochet dress is perfect for festivals, it’s lightweight, summery and what’s better than crochet to wear at a festival?! Feeling a little chilly? Throw on a biker jacket or a suede tassel jacket . Tassels immediately scream FESTIVAL in my face. You and your tassels will be dancing in the field like a free spirit. Throw on some jewellery, a fedora and some biker/western boots and you’re ready to go flower child!

The Fear Of Missing Out

Hey guys, It’s been a while! there is a reason for that. I’ve been ill, yep! AGAIN. I thought I would talk about how I’ve been feeling lately because I know you lot like reading and relating to my lifestyle posts. It seems that I’m ill more than I am well lately and it’s getting me pretty down. It’s getting me down because I’m missing out on things. Things I enjoy doing the most. Remember that one kid who was always ill at school and had to be always taken out of lesson? Well yeah, I’m now kinda like that kid but in my 20s haha. Having a weakend immune system means I’m at home a lot and yes one of the advantages of blogging is that you can work and make money from home and that’s all fine and dandy until you’re home for too long. There’s only so much you can do.

My number one tip for cleaning out your wardrobe

FASHION

Hello, It’s me! I had been a little behind on my blog lately but I’m back with lots of new ideas and content to share with ya! So, today is all about cleaning out that wardrobe and letting go of those jeans you’ve probably had since being 18 years old. Little exaggeration? uh no, you’d be surprised how many of us keep useless items of clothing for so many years. Being a fashion blogger with no actual ‘personal style’ means my wardrobe can get a little out of hand sometimes, my rail was ready to collapse last week but my dad came to save the day just in time. I have no more room on my rail whatsoever, so a lot of my clothes get put in a spare room now which my dad is NOT happy about. He’s always confused to why I have so many clothes and why I cling on to things I never actually wear no more. I’ve always been emotionally attached to clothes, is that weird? probably. I find it so hard to get rid of clothes when they have made amazing memories with me, been to places with me, made me look sassy when going through breakups, helped me experiment with style and most important of all, covered up my naked body. Its kind of like a baby’s blanket.

“What is your personal style?”

FASHION

32219181733What is your personal style? A question I get asked a lot in interviews and a question I can never fully answer. When I think about this question, something comes to mind that I don’t actually have a personal style and to be honest I’ve never had one. Ever since I got into fashion I never wanted to dress the exact same as someone else, I never had a fixed style. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always had my style icons, Debbie Harry, Anna Karina, Alexa Chung etc.. but they’re just celebs that I look to for outfit inspo if I’m feeling uninspired. I would pick parts of Debbie Harry’s style but then I would also pick parts of somebody elses style and then put my own twist on it. I still do that today, but now I’m dressing more for me, rather than dressing to just look ‘cool’ or ‘ vintage’. I dress in clothes that flatter my figure and that make me look like the best ME. I know what doesn’t look good on me and what does, I think that’s the most important thing when it come to fashion. I’m a teeny 5’2 and a half (haha I had to add that half in) which means I know to wear skirts and dresses that come above the knee to elongate my legs. I can’t wear those dreamy bohemian maxi dresses because I literally look like I’m wearing a potato sack that is trailing along the floor collecting up dust. I don’t do too well with some cropped jeans because I feel they cut my legs off even more. However kick flares are a god send!! and booties above the ankle are an absolute no go for me! #cankle probs.

Hello you! how are ya? I’ve been working on something with Accessorize and I’m so excited to let you in on what I’ve got up to. So last week the lovely team at Accessorize invited me into their new refurbished shop in the Manchester Arndale to view their also brand new collection ‘Eclectic Bloom’. The shop actually reminds me of one of those stores that you find abroad that sells all the beautiful jewellery and scarves, it has a lovely layout of perfectly stored pieces and the perfect lighting.
