Hey hey hey, In the festive spirit yet? It’s bloody freezing outside and to be honest I’m not happy about it, bah humbug! I am however, happy I get to eat a chocolate from my advent calendar for breakfast every morning (nothing new lol lol). Winter means big coats! and big coats I love. I know that it can be annoying when we are wearing a cute lil outfit and then we have to go and cover it up with a mahooosive winter coat ughhhh BUT it’s not the end of the world ladies and gents because when your coat is sass af, you can let it do all the talking…

Saying goodbye to Summer

Summer is over and I definitely have the blues! Although Manchester is being kind and gifting us with that extra little bit of sunshine lately! I’m definitely a summer gal at heart but I can say I’m excited for big coats and layers. I’ll miss the pale denims, florals, flowing dresses and the occasional ugly sandal but it’s time to say goodbye and put them to the back of my wardrobe for next year. This summer has been a good’n! Festival season is always a winner because you get to sit in a field drinking beers and watching your favourite bands with your favourite people. I have also had amazing opportunities collaborating with brands and to watch my blog and followers grow so much in a short amount of time means a lot to me.

photo-18-09-2016-14-08-59photo-18-09-2016-18-06-16-1photo-18-09-2016-18-19-20photo-18-09-2016-18-10-12

So, this is probably the last summery outfit you will see on my blog until the sunshine greets us with it’s presence again. Let’s start with the culottes. Culottes were massive this summer and they came in a variety of different styles from metallic pleats to light wash denim. These babies are originally from Zara but I found them on Everythingfivepounds.com for well, 5 pounds! I was so happy with this bargain as they are a good quality denim and they fit like a glove (I clearly haven’t used an iron again lolol) Pale denim goes very well with floral prints so I decided to pair them with a yellow floral high neck top which will also look cute under a mustard or brown Pinafore for Autumn/Winter!

Jacket – Boohoo | Top – Primark | Culottes – Zara | Bag – Primark | Shoes – New Look

The rust suede tassel jacket goes so well against the yellow florals. However, I have had the jacket for a while now and it’s definitely been worn to death. The tassels are a little tangled and matted so I think it’s time to ditch it and upgrade for a much warmer one for the winter. The bag I absolutely love! The suede patchwork gives you them 70’s feels and the colours will take me right through to Autumn too (p.s it’s a Primark bargain so grab it before it’s gone!). To finish off my look I wore a pair of white pumps because white shoes go with any summer outfit right?

Hey kittens, hope all is well! I’ve been running around all day and I’ve finally had a chance to sit down so I thought I would do a quick post for ya whilst I drink my cuppa!

So, these shots are by the lovely Elle check out some of her work here. We had a hugeeeee stroll around Manchester taking some shots until our little legs were hurting. It was a lovely day and the sun was shining so I can’t complain really. This dress is a vintage dress I bought from COW a few years back and I still wear it to death today. Its a lovely patterned silk with a huge collar (always a fave). The dress has a really feminine feel so I decided to add some masculine to the outfit by pairing it with a biker jacket and these beautifulllllllll boots that were sent to me by CAT Footwear and ohhhh I am just a little bit in love. They are suede AND leather so I get the best of both worlds and they also have a western/punk vibe to them. They are super comfy to walk in almost like memory foam and they haven’t even rubbed my feet yet!! These will definitely be on my feet this Autumn and right through to winter fo sure!

P.s I can’t forget the earrings! how pretty are they? Bonjouk Designs have amazing and unique jewelry from all over Turkey and they stock up on lots of lovely new items every Sunday so go check them out! You can also get 10% off using my code ‘starr10’

That’s it for today! Enjoy

Iyaaaaaa. Hope y’all good. Last Sunday I went to Leeds Fezzie so I thought I would show you some little snaps I took. Some pretty some not so pretty!! Oh my god, the mud. I’ve never seen anything like it! These pictures are definitely sugar coated. It was past my ankles at one point and me being me didn’t even put wellies on! My poor little Dr Martens are currently still in my back garden caked in mud! Anyhow, this didn’t stop us from having a good time! and how pretty do the flares look! We had a great time getting stuck in the mud, eating cheesy chips and watching our favourite bands even if it did feel like we were on a army training course at times haha! The Jack Rocks This Feeling tent was definitely the highlight of the festival and I said the same thing about it at YNOT Festival. It has new and upcoming bands playing right through the day into the night, the friendliest vibe and you can treat yourself to a cheeky JD and coke or 10 (JD honey and lemonade for me, cheers!)

Good morning! Today i’m sharing some pictures with you from last month taken by the verrrrrry talented Joe Rigby, you can see some of his work at www.josephrigbyphotography.co.uk  I’m love love loving these shots! However, I do wish I ironed my dress before leaving the house oops. Anyway, speaking of the dress! This is another gem of a dress that I don’t wear enough purely because i’m scared of ruining it and when ya a bit clumsy like me and known for spilling things on yourself then i’m guessing you understand my anxiety here. I found this dress on Depop after searching for hours, again. The dress stood out to me right away and funnily enough the owner of the dress (who had bought the dress off someone else) was a girl who I’ve had on Instagram for a while! So if you’re reading this Ruby, i’m thanking you again for this lil dreamy dress (still don’t know why you wanted to sell it haha) God knows how many times the dress has been passed down and how long its been around for but I like to think it was originally made in the 60’s. The dress is beautifully hand made and has this cute daisy chain detail around the neck. I also love how it zips up at the front rather than having the usual buttons or zip at the back. The dress fits my petite frame perfectly and has a stand up collar! a favourite of mine, so I definitely think this was a match made in heaven! It’s hard when looking for the perfect dress and it’s definitely not going to suddenly appear after looking through Ebay for 10 minutes, unless yer a lucky bugger! It takes a lot of time looking through every rail of vinatge/charity shops and spending a lot of time online, on places such as Etsy and Depop but once you find the perfect dress you’ll know it’s meant to be.

Ello ello ello! Hope y’all good. I just want to mention that I’ll be getting my domain name in the next couple of weeks, yay! (something that I should have done a while ago) but I wanted to see if the blogging life was for me before I put any money into anything. Someone actually stole my blog name which is really really really really annoying 😦 so that means my blog name will be changing but only slightly. BUY YOUR DOMAIN NAME KIDS BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL STEAL YOUR NAME – Life quote by Starr Clare 2016

Today I’m talking about budget outfits. I don’t like spending too much money when it comes to buying clothes and for those who have had me on Instagram for a while know i’m a sucker for charity shops. Don’t get me wrong there are some absolute gems out in the big wide world that you get what you pay for and it will last you forever but personally I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that i’m only going to wear a couple of times and then probably sell it on my Depop. Plus why would you when there are some amazing vintage and charity shops were you can shop bargains for very little money AND the money goes to a good cause.

The sunglasses, earings, bag and sandals are all from Primark and are all really good bargains! The sunnies just £3 and the earings only £1! A lot of Primark earings can look cheap, tacky and turn your ears green! why do they do that!? but I think these ones look and feel pretty decent. The bag, which I have already featured in an older post, is just the cutest little thing and as I have mentioned before I feel like Suzy Bishop from Moonrise Kingdom every time I wear it! By the way that’s a class film and you deffo should watch it! The sandals are such a basic sandal. Nothing to say about them really apart from they are super comfy and go with literally anything. They are still going strong after almost 3 years of having them! Go on Primark!

The top is a Whistles top which I found in a little charity shop in Stockport. We all know Whistles is a little pricey so when I saw this baby for just £4 I had to get it. Its a really lovely yellow colour, with polka dots, frills and pussy bow! whats not to like! The shorts are also a charity shop find (£2) that were originally a pair of jeans which I cut into cropped jeans and then cut into shorts! so I’ve definitely had a lot of life outta them!

What are your opinions on thrift shopping and spending little money on clothes?

See you on the next,

Hey guys and gals! Hope you had the best bank holiday weekend, I did. Fred Perry Subculture kindly invited me to Dot to Dot festival to watch some really cool bands and party all night in the best little venues with amazing people. I’ll be doing a little blog post on my time at the festival soon (hopefully I got enough snaps)

Moving on… Did you ever think you would see me in a luminous orange beanie? no, me neither. But now you have! and guess what? I kinda like it haha. It isn’t something I would wear but I feel like some kind of cool lil painter in these pictures with the dungarees and simple T. I also really love how the yellow posts look with the outfit.

See you on the next one!

GET SUMMER READY

IMG_1822IMG_1830IMG_1848IMG_1837IMG_1825

Hey sunshine babies! I thought I would do a summery post to relate to the Manchester weather, how lovely has the past few days been!? Sadly, it never lasts so enjoy it while it’s still here. Firstly I want to thank Hayley Sellers for being amazing and taking these beautiful photos. You can find her instagram here go go go!

I have to say this is my favourite outfit for The White Pepper, I love the summer vibes it has with the bright colours and the quirky lil briefcase. The briefcase has been in the family for years and it was finally passed down to me a few years ago. I use it every summer for my travels but mainly to carry the 5 pairs of shoes that I never actually end up wearing!

The White Pepper knit I just luuurrrrrrrv!  It’s a thin knit in a T-shirt style so it’s suitable to wear for the spring but also takes you through to the summer (if your someone who is a mard and is always cold like me) It’s a really vibrant pink colour with a cute little rainbow on the front which makes it even more adorable! because who doesn’t like rainbows? I paired the knit with a denim button down A-line, a skirt that literally goes with mostly everything but you could also wear it with some cropped denim kick flares or cut off shorts. Denim is always a must have during spring/summer and it goes nicely paired with lighter shades. To finish the look I wore white jelly shoes which take me back to the 90’s every time I wear them and a pair of love heart sunglasses to add that extra bit of summer lovin’

Hope you enjoyed outfit number 2! See you on the next post for outfit number 3

All about the Beret

FASHION

IMG_5250IMG_5275IMG_5270IMG_5253IMG_5269IMG_5251IMG_5266IMG_5260IMG_5252IMG_5254IMG_5277IMG_5267IMG_5247IMG_5256IMG_5258IMG_5255IMG_5262IMG_5259IMG_5257

Oh hey! How are ya? I feel like there should be an Eiffel Tower behind me but nope just rainy manc! and March why are you so cold? This always happens doesn’t it? We pray to wake up to snow and Christmas day but we are given nothing but rain or the odd bit of sun! Then February and March come and BAM! snow everywhere!! Like seriously c’mon March I’m ready for spring now.. I’m sick of wearing the same old jumper and jeans combo.

Todays outfit is.. well, a little red.. I’ve been obsessed with red lately and I love how it stands out against the duller shades and gives you that pop of colour. The cord jacket I found in a charity shop, its about 3 sizes big but I had to get it because I instantly fell in love ❤ Also I kinda like to wear my coats/jackets oversized. I teamed it with a red lip and beret. I love this beret, at first I went for the black one and had a good stare in the mirror for 10 minutes (ok maybe not that long) but then I decided to give the red beret a try as I wanted to experiment rather than wearing the usual plain black hats AND I’m so glad I did! It’s such a cute little number and adds that little bit of French girl look to any outfit.

The faux snake skin bag I’ve only worn around twice as I only bought it for a festival because I needed a smallish kind of bag to carry my things around. However when I got home I neglected her for a while as I didn’t think she matched with most of my outfits but now she’s back! I don’t know how long for… but at least she’s back. I really need to stop referring items as people.

The top (which is actually a dress) is a really lovely ribbed knit which I tuck into skirts or jeans to wear as a top instead. It has long sleeves with a slight high neck and its supaaaa comfy! With the knit I wore my favourite pair of jeans, The cropped kick flare! They really don’t look like kick flares here because I forgot to iron them before I left the house as you can tell, oops. (Thanks Dad for not telling me I had creased pants!!) These jeans are the best fit I’ve had in a while. Not too big on the waist, not too long on the leg and not too baggy on the bum! a common problem for me when trying to find the perfect jeans because I’m a teeny 5’3 with a 24 inch waist. I still convince myself that I’m going to grow taller but lets be realistic, that’s not going to happen now 😦 To finish my look I wore a printed scarf and suede, black pointy boots which seem to be appearing on every blog post lately!
