Hey hey! I thought I would write-up a quick post for you today on how I stay inspired and hopefully it may help you to stay inspired too. A few weeks ago I was ill, I couldn’t go out the house much so I was basically either in a hospital bed or in my own bed/couch. I started to feel really shitty about myself and my blog. I wasn’t able to get any posts written up because I couldn’t go out and get photo shoots done and I was surrounded by either my own home or nurses and other people who were ill. Don’t get me wrong I’m always truly inspired and amazed by nurses and doctors and what they do for us but I couldn’t help but stare down at my snot green hospital socks whilst hooked to a drip and think ‘I NEED SOME INSPIRATION, I AM GOING INSANE!’
To Single Lady,
I am writing this late love letter to you because I was so busy yesterday, spending my Valentine’s Day in lovely restaurants and then I was whisked away to a castle to stay in overnight LOL JKE. I was too busy celebrating an early Easter, watching Pretty Woman in my own company with a crisp butty. Yep, Easter eggs and crisp butties. But that’s ok, right!? Yes, of course! Not everybody has a partner to celebrate the day of love and not everybody will have a lucky someone to whisk them away to a princess castle. Valentine’s Day can make us feel a bit down in the dumps for us single ladies and maybe have us questioning ‘Why am I single?’ ‘Why have I not met the one yet?’ and this is completely normal. This is my second year in row without a Valentine and this year I took it a lot better than I did last year. Last year, I was still moping around over an ex boyfriend who I thought was the ”ONE” but who obviously wasn’t the one because I would have been celebrating Valentine’s with him this year. But I’ve realised there is no point rushing into relationships and wasting time with people you don’t love just because you want to feel loved or wanted, this is a bad move. I repeat, this is a bad move. As cliché as this sounds, there is someone for everyone out there and you probably just haven’t met them yet. So gurrrrrrrrrrrrls pls try to keep up that girl power and appreciate your love for yourself at a time like this.
Good Morning you lot! I thought I would write-up a little morning blog post for you whilst I’m chilling with a cuppa. So, we all know the second Alexa Chung collection came out not so long ago and I thought I would treat myself this time around. I bought two lovely pieces from the collection, one being this shirt and The Lovell Blouse which I’ll be doing a post on also! The Albion shirt was the one that caught my eye first. The Oriental print is seen everywhere this season and I can’t resist those satin blossom prints, oh so dreamy. I really like the classiness of Oriental prints and I think they can look very elegant when worn correctly.
Ello, guess what!? I got my domain finally! It’s changed slightly because Style By Starr was sadly stolen as mentioned in a previous post (still not over that) but hey ho. I wanted to buy my domain name because I had a big think about my blog and realised it’s something I definitely want to focus on whilst I take a year out from uni. Yes, another thing that’s happened in the week of Starr Clare. I started my first year at uni in September but got ill with tonsillitis AGAIN which has been coming back until this date! I will eventually be having those bad boys out. So yeah, I had missed out on so much work already and couldn’t afford to miss out on anymore. I had missed freshers week and moved into my flat a month late so I didn’t find it as easy to settle in as others. Another reason that made me think twice about uni is that I felt like I needed to go just because I thought that’s what everybody does in life, go to school, college, university and then work. But I’ve realised that people can be successful without going to uni. So hopefully this year will give me the time to focus on my blog, get myself better and think about whether I want to start fresh at uni again next September.
Enough with the rambling! Lets talk about the outfit. As we all know, it’s now festive season and it only feels like last week when I was dancing around at festivals with my little sun burnt nose. I’m not mad on Christmas and I’m one of those people who get really annoyed at seeing Christmas decorations early November. However, I do love the trends that come with this time of the year, that being metallics and velvet! Velvet is a favourite all year round for me, even if it’s just a delicate choker. Metallics are a must have for the festive season because I think it brings us that comfort christmassy party feel.
Top – Nobodys Child | Jeans – Primark | Choker – Depop | Boots – Primark
Today I’ve paired velvet and metallic together but still kept it subtle by breaking them up with a pair of baby blue cropped jeans which i’ve featured in a previous post (still can’t believe they are Primark). Speaking of Primark… these silver dreamboats were only £12!! I repeat £12!! and the quality of them are so good. If I saw someone wearing them I’d never of thought that they were from Primark. I’m well happy with Primark’s game at the minute and for those who have me on Instagram can probably tell ha! For those who have me on instagram will have also noticed I’ve not had this pink velvet peplum cami off! Apart from this top making me look like I have funny nips at times it’s definitely one of my favourite pieces I own. The colour, texture and style of it is just a dream. The top is so easy to style, you can throw it on top of a plain T or wear it on its own with a mini skirt or flares. The top is from Nobodys Child, a lovely brand I spoke about in my last post (you can find it here) and be sure to check out the rest of their website for festive dreaminess.
Ello, hope you all had a fab Halloween! Who’s eating the left over trick or treaters sweets because I am definitely am haha. Todays post is a little collaboration post with Nobody’s Child. Nobody’s Child is London based brand that has the latest trends at affordable prices. I had never heard of this brand before until they contacted me about sending me some goodies and I’m so glad they did! When I went onto the website I instantly fell in love, there was too many beautiful things to pick from. I had to send the links of different items back to them so they could help me choose oops! On the website you can find anything from metallic playsuits to velvet dresses, floral culottes to star print blouses and satin camis to a plain grey T. You want it they’ve got it.
Two of the pieces I got my hands on were this black mini pinafore and roll neck top which the colours are so lovely on! They both go really well together as styled on the website. The coloured roll neck gives the all back outfit a pop of colour and cosiness but still leaves the black pinafore to do the talking.

To keep the outfit’s simplicity I threw on some tights, mini bag and those good ol’ Dr Martens!
See you on next one
Helloooo my fellow spooky black cats! Halloween is almost here and a lot of us are celebrating this weekend. Halloween is my favourite thing about October, purely because I get to dress up and show my inner goth. There’s also something I love about the vibe on Halloween, I can always feel the spookiness in the air on the night whether I’m opening the door to trick or treaters or whether I’m in the smoking area getting a lil merry with my favourite people.
Todays post is all about helping you out if dressing up is not your thang (which I think is crazy but each to their own eh). Hopefully this post will give you some inspo and help you bring out your inner darkness with very little effort this Halloween.
It’s super easy to create a Halloween look using just accessories. Accessories have saved my life so many times in the past for a last minute Halloween outfit. Cat ears, pumpkin earrings, fishnet tights.. the list goes on. If you’re still ‘scared’ to take on those cat ears you could opt for a gothic style choker, like the one I’m wearing for example.
If I still haven’t convinced you to get spooky and have a little fun this Halloween then keep reading, there are more options!
If Halloween accessories are not for you then the colour black is ready to save the day! The colour black is a must for those who are not wanting to dress up this year and we all own something black so no excuses 😉 You could opt for a simple black dress and heels. I usually like to wear lace or velvet on Halloween because it gives the outfit that witchy feel. You could even throw on those trusty black skinnys with a biker jacket and ankle boots for a relaxed feel.
P.s black nail varnish is always a bonus for that goth girl look.
Makeup is another easy choice to go for. A black Smokey eye or a blood rep lip is easy to do and very effective when put together (goth girl/vampire look is always a yes from me).
Still not willing to embrace your darker side? You can always glam it up with some glitter! because everyone loves a bit of glitter right?

I hope this post helped those who are not dressing up or are on a budget this year, have a happy Halloween and stay spooky!
Hey! Hope October is treating you well. I’m definitely feeling the cold here in Huddersfield, I’ve already got the sheepskin and scarf out. My favourite thing about Autumn (AFTER HALLOWEEN OF COURSE!) is the colour palette it brings. The rusty oranges, golden yellows and brick browns give our layered outfits that dreamy Autumn feel.
For this outfit I decided to stick with the orange and brown tones, wearing a burnt orange suede pinny with a cream polka blouse underneath to separate the oranges because we all know the full on dorito wouldn’t be a good look. The CAT boots I featured in a previous post, these babies haven’t been off my feet! They are so so comfy and literally go with anything! I’ve been slipping them on with jeans, mini and midi dresses/skirts and even with culottes.
Hat – Vintage | Coat – H&M | Dress – Primark | Bag – Vintage | Blouse – The Magpies Den Boutique | Boots – CAT Footwear
The bag I managed to grab off Depop as soon as I lay my eyes on it. I fell in love with that rusty orange and mock croc combo so I couldn’t resist. I didn’t realise how big the bag actually was until the postman delivered it. I was expecting a standard size shoulder bag but oh no. Or maybe
the bag isn’t so big but I make it look huge by being so tiny! who knows? Anyhow, it will be a handy bag for when it comes to taking books to uni.
To finish off the look I threw on my leopard coat which is always a favourite every year for autumn/winter and my trusty baker boy hat for those windy bad hair days.
Ello! hope ye all good! Today i’m welcoming back the knit! because no matter how much a lot of us don’t like the cold, you would be lying if you said you don’t miss that cosy jumper stuck in the back of your wardrobe!
On the day of this shoot the weather was still pretty warm so I opted for a knit dress to stay on the cooler side. However, on chillier days I would pair it with some boots and a long mac coat. The dress is originally from Daisy Street but I actually found it in a charity shop.. new with tags.. for £2.99!! Bloody bargain eh!

I kept it simple and paired it with some white sneaks, tote bag and corduroy cap (which literally everything sticks to) for some sporty vibezzzzz. Then I threw in a suede choker so it didn’t lose it’s feminine touch.
Summer is over and I definitely have the blues! Although Manchester is being kind and gifting us with that extra little bit of sunshine lately! I’m definitely a summer gal at heart but I can say I’m excited for big coats and layers. I’ll miss the pale denims, florals, flowing dresses and the occasional ugly sandal but it’s time to say goodbye and put them to the back of my wardrobe for next year. This summer has been a good’n! Festival season is always a winner because you get to sit in a field drinking beers and watching your favourite bands with your favourite people. I have also had amazing opportunities collaborating with brands and to watch my blog and followers grow so much in a short amount of time means a lot to me.
So, this is probably the last summery outfit you will see on my blog until the sunshine greets us with it’s presence again. Let’s start with the culottes. Culottes were massive this summer and they came in a variety of different styles from metallic pleats to light wash denim. These babies are originally from Zara but I found them on Everythingfivepounds.com for well, 5 pounds! I was so happy with this bargain as they are a good quality denim and they fit like a glove (I clearly haven’t used an iron again lolol) Pale denim goes very well with floral prints so I decided to pair them with a yellow floral high neck top which will also look cute under a mustard or brown Pinafore for Autumn/Winter!
Jacket – Boohoo | Top – Primark | Culottes – Zara | Bag – Primark | Shoes – New Look
The rust suede tassel jacket goes so well against the yellow florals. However, I have had the jacket for a while now and it’s definitely been worn to death. The tassels are a little tangled and matted so I think it’s time to ditch it and upgrade for a much warmer one for the winter. The bag I absolutely love! The suede patchwork gives you them 70’s feels and the colours will take me right through to Autumn too (p.s it’s a Primark bargain so grab it before it’s gone!). To finish off my look I wore a pair of white pumps because white shoes go with any summer outfit right?
