My number one tip for cleaning out your wardrobe

Hello, It’s me! I had been a little behind on my blog lately but I’m back with lots of new ideas and content to share with ya! So, today is all about cleaning out that wardrobe and letting go of those jeans you’ve probably had since being 18 years old. Little exaggeration? uh no, you’d be surprised how many of us keep useless items of clothing for so many years. Being a fashion blogger with no actual ‘personal style’ means my wardrobe can get a little out of hand sometimes, my rail was ready to collapse last week but my dad came to save the day just in time. I have no more room on my rail whatsoever, so a lot of my clothes get put in a spare room now which my dad is NOT happy about. He’s always confused to why I have so many clothes and why I cling on to things I never actually wear no more. I’ve always been emotionally attached to clothes, is that weird? probably. I find it so hard to get rid of clothes when they have made amazing memories with me, been to places with me, made me look sassy when going through breakups, helped me experiment with style and most important of all, covered up my naked body. Its kind of like a baby’s blanket.

Eeeelaaar! Hope you’re all well. I’m trying keep up with doing at least 2 blog posts a week from now on as I’ve got a lot of free time at the minute and like I had mentioned in a previous post, my blog is something I really want to focus on whilst I take a year out from uni. If I’m honest, I started my blog halfheartedly but it’s become something much more meaningful to me and I love having this space to write and share my outfits with you. One of my favourite parts of blogging is collaborating with other photographers. I love the whole concept of finding new locations, meeting new people and trying new things out, shooting on film for example!

EVERY FACE TELLS A STORY

Good Morning! Last week I had the amazing opportunity to team up with Preen.Me and Dermalogica to experience face mapping, exciting! My skin sure does go through a lot for someone who struggles with anxiety, has the diet of a fussy 3-year-old (I’m not joking here haha), doesn’t always take off my make up before bed and for someone who has never really had a proper skin care routine due to products either making my sensitive skin worse or not working at all! So what a time it was to be alive when Preen.Me and Dermalogica asked me to collaborate with them! This post will take you through my journey of having my skin analysis and also product reviews.

Ok so, as you can see in the image above face mapping involves dividing the face into 14 zones which is carefully examined. The zones relate to different parts of our body for example, zones 1 and two are related to the bladder!

Each zone on my face was carefully examined and then I was recommended products for each area that needed working on. My T zone, (areas 1,2 &3) are pretty oily. I always knew I had oily skin but I never  knew it was because of dehydration! We think that when we are dehydrated are skin would be dry right? Wrong! When our skin is dehydrated our body goes into panic mode and starts to produce more oils to try rehydrate our skin. Dehydration can be caused by many things such as not drinking enough water (I’m definitely guilty of this), not eating enough whole foods and it can be even down to those lovely radiators in our home that keep us warm this time of the year.

Areas 5&9 are related to the lungs and this is my sensitive area, so that probably explains the chesty cough I’ve just got over! This is the area that is mostly affected when I have a reaction to something also.

Areas 7&12 is where I tend to get condones (blackheads) which is pretty common in everyone!

Now areas 11,12 & 13 is where I usually break out as you can see in some of the images above. This area can indicate hormonal imbalance and stress. As I mentioned, I do sometimes struggle with anxiety and when my anxiety levels are high this is when my skin starts to break out. Area 12 also relates to the small intestine and with me eating foods that only seem to be the colour beige, my breakouts are finally starting to make sense haha! New Years resolution = eat healthier!!

Good Morning you lot! I thought I would write-up a little morning blog post for you whilst I’m chilling with a cuppa. So, we all know the second Alexa Chung collection came out not so long ago and I thought I would treat myself this time around. I bought two lovely pieces from the collection, one being this shirt and The Lovell Blouse which I’ll be doing a post on also! The Albion shirt was the one that caught my eye first. The Oriental print is seen everywhere this season and I can’t resist those satin blossom prints, oh so dreamy. I really like the classiness of Oriental prints and I think they can look very elegant when worn correctly.

Hey hey hey, In the festive spirit yet? It’s bloody freezing outside and to be honest I’m not happy about it, bah humbug! I am however, happy I get to eat a chocolate from my advent calendar for breakfast every morning (nothing new lol lol). Winter means big coats! and big coats I love. I know that it can be annoying when we are wearing a cute lil outfit and then we have to go and cover it up with a mahooosive winter coat ughhhh BUT it’s not the end of the world ladies and gents because when your coat is sass af, you can let it do all the talking…

I can’t believe my blog is one year old already, where did that go!? I am so pleased with how far my blog has come within a year and I’m shocked people still actually read my blog. It took me almost a year to actually get one started up as I had lots of anxieties about nobody ever reading my posts or people judging on how I write because writing isn’t my strongest point. But with a few push and shoves and some encouragement from a little someone (he will know who he is if he is reading this, THANKYOU!) I finally built up the courage to start my own blog. My blog has been a space where I share my outfit of the day, where I get them from, my inspirations and a little bit lifestyle and beauty.

dsc_6605dsc_6488dsc_6492dsc_6559dsc_6613

Fashion has always been something I’ve been interested in, even from a very young age, looking at every detail in fashion magazine pictures. I’ve always loved finding a bargain and putting an outfit together so this blog made it easier for me to share my outfits. It all kind of started on Instagram when I went through a stage of being in love (obsessed) with vintage clothes. People would post lovely comments about my outfits and often ask me where to find them. My friends and boyfriend at the time would tell me I should start a blog which I never gave a second thought about until last year. Trying something new is always scary but a positive. I remember publishing my first post and absolutely cringing my head off thinking nobody is going to read it or think its a piece of poo. But from that post on wards and many more I have watched my stats and followers grow a lot in such a short space of time. I reached 10k on Instagram this year and I know that’s not a lot to some but I never even dreamed of reaching that amount of followers.

dsc_6546dsc_6608dsc_6552dsc_6596

I know i’m still a baby in this big wide blogging world and it’s all still kinda new to me but having someone come up to me when i’m about and about to tell me they love and read my blog! Now that makes me happy. I love having this space to write and blab on to you guys whenever I feel the need to and I’ve always had lovely feedback.

So I’d like to say thankyou to whoever reads my blog, follows me on insta, and supports me in any way.

Here’s to many more blog posts!

Helloooo my fellow spooky black cats! Halloween is almost here and a lot of us are celebrating this weekend. Halloween is my favourite thing about October, purely because I get to dress up and show my inner goth. There’s also something I love about the vibe on Halloween, I can always feel the spookiness in the air on the night whether I’m opening the door to trick or treaters or whether I’m in the smoking area getting a lil merry with my favourite people.

Todays post is all about helping you out if dressing up is not your thang (which I think is crazy but each to their own eh). Hopefully this post will give you some inspo and help you bring out your inner darkness with very little effort this Halloween.

dsc_2320dsc_2179dsc_2215

It’s super easy to create a Halloween look using just accessories. Accessories have saved my life so many times in the past for a last minute Halloween outfit. Cat ears, pumpkin earrings, fishnet tights.. the list goes on. If you’re still ‘scared’ to take on those cat ears you could opt for a gothic style choker, like the one I’m wearing for example.

If I still haven’t convinced you to get spooky and have a little fun this Halloween then keep reading, there are more options!

dsc_2173dsc_2272dsc_2193

If Halloween accessories are not for you then the colour black is ready to save the day! The colour black is a must for those who are not wanting to dress up this year and we all own something black so no excuses 😉 You could opt for a simple black dress and heels. I usually like to wear lace or velvet on Halloween because it gives the outfit that witchy feel. You could even throw on those trusty black skinnys with a biker jacket and ankle boots for a relaxed feel.

P.s black nail varnish is always a bonus for that goth girl look.

dsc_2199dsc_2219dsc_2277

Makeup is another easy choice to go for. A black Smokey eye or a blood rep lip is easy to do and very effective when put together (goth girl/vampire look is always a yes from me).

Still not willing to embrace your darker side? You can always glam it up with some glitter! because everyone loves a bit of glitter right?

I hope this post helped those who are not dressing up or are on a budget this year, have a happy Halloween and stay spooky!

Ello! hope ye all good! Today i’m welcoming back the knit! because no matter how much a lot of us don’t like the cold, you would be lying if you said you don’t miss that cosy jumper stuck in the back of your wardrobe!

photo-18-09-2016-20-24-25photo-18-09-2016-22-24-50photo-18-09-2016-20-25-42

On the day of this shoot the weather was still pretty warm so I opted for a knit dress to stay on the cooler side. However, on chillier days I would pair it with some boots and a long mac coat. The dress is originally from Daisy Street but I actually found it in a charity shop.. new with tags.. for £2.99!! Bloody bargain eh!

Dress – Daisy Street | Choker – Ebay | Bag – The White Pepper | Shoes – New Look | Hat – Primark

I kept it simple and paired it with some white sneaks, tote bag and corduroy cap (which literally everything sticks to) for some sporty vibezzzzz. Then I threw in a suede choker so it didn’t lose it’s feminine touch.

#BEACHDAYMUSTS WITH ADORE ME

#BEACHDAYMUSTS

Today I’m sharing my #beachdaymusts with @adoreme , summer is finally here (well kind of) and that means a lot of us will be taking trips to the beach! There is nothing more relaxing than chilling out on the beach but there are always risks with sunbathing, so today i’m here to show you my absolute musts and all the other fun bits and bobs I like to take to the beach.

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Sun cream – I have put this one first because it’s an absolute must have!! you should always protect your skin from the sun by applying sun cream all over the skin. The sun can cause a lot of damage and also ages your skin. I like to use Garnier Ambre Solaire because it’s a thin liquid texture that’s non greasy. There is nothing worse than trying to blend thick sun cream onto my skin and being left with white streaks.

Sun hat and glasses –  Sunglasses and sun hats protect our lovely little eyes and head from the sun so make sure you have those bad boys on! p.s sun stroke and squinty eyes is not a good look.

Water – As much as we love the sun, it dehydrates us. So making sure we have water next to us is a must have! I like to use these Beehive Drinking Jars because they stop spillage and are easy to drink from the straw.

Entertainment – Now the boring (but very important!!) stuff is out the way we can move onto the fun bits! When sunbathing I find myself getting a little bored after a while so I’ll usually pop my earphones in and listen to a playlist on Spotify or I’ll read a book to escape for a bit.

Bikini – Bikinis bikinis bikinis! I just love them! Adore Me have a huge range of different
swimwear/bikinis
in all
different sizes
so no excuses to not rock that bikini girls 😉 Also a cool lil tip is wearing a bikini under your outfit so you don’t have to face that awkwardly getting changed underneath a towel malarkey. I like to wear a pair of denim shorts and a kimono.

Sandals – Sandals can add so much to fun our beach wear outfits and stop us from burning our feet on that hot sand! My advice is to buy some that are easy to just slip on and off to save hassle.

Towel – Use me to dry you or to lay down on.

Hair ties and grips –  I don’t want to spend all my time at the beach pushing my hair back from my face so hair ties are always handy. I like these Unicorn Popband Hair Ties they look really cute just worn around the wrist too!

Make up – If like me, you don’t like wearing make up when the sun is shining purely because we just melt it off and our mascara ends up half way down our face then I advise you to just wear a lipstick. A matte lipstick because we don’t want sand stuck to our lips when we see a hot guy walk past now do we? I like to use a bold red lipstick and let the lips do the talking as it gives a pop of colour to my face when I’m not wearing any make up. If you’re not wearing lippy then I advise wearing a lip balm. I notice that my lips tend to get dry when I’ve been in the sun so it’s important to keep them supa smooooooth. Another thing I like to do when sun bathing is paint my nails to match my bikini. Is that a little OCD? I dunno, maybe. I usually use Revlon 210 Retro Pink. Dry shampoo is also a must have. Dry shampoo is always useful at the beach for when my hair gets greased up with sun cream so that’s definitely worth packing! Finally, I like to bring a cleansing water to lift off any sun cream, sand and dirt that has collected on my face throughout the day (gross) I use  Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

Camera – If you love capturing memories then it’s definitely worth it to take a camera to the beach. Polaroid camera’s are very useful because they are easy to just pop into your bag and the photos are instant which means you don’t have to wait until you get home… to recharge the camera…. then find your camera lead…. then wait for all the pictures to load on your laptop….. haha you get where I’m going!

Moisturize – And finally, moisturize. My skin likes to play up after sunbathing and usually gets dry. Using an after sun or moisturizer helps to keep the skin healthy and hydrated.

I hope you enjoyed my tips and must haves for the beach! What are your favourite #beachdaymusts ?
