Happy Birthday Style With Starr!



I can’t believe my blog is one year old already, where did that go!? I am so pleased with how far my blog has come within a year and I’m shocked people still actually read my blog. It took me almost a year to actually get one started up as I had lots of anxieties about nobody ever reading my posts or people judging on how I write because writing isn’t my strongest point. But with a few push and shoves and some encouragement from a little someone (he will know who he is if he is reading this, THANKYOU!) I finally built up the courage to start my own blog. My blog has been a space where I share my outfit of the day, where I get them from, my inspirations and a little bit lifestyle and beauty. 


Fashion has always been something I’ve been interested in, even from a very young age, looking at every detail in fashion magazine pictures. I’ve always loved finding a bargain and putting an outfit together so this blog made it easier for me to share my outfits. It all kind of started on Instagram when I went through a stage of being in love (obsessed) with vintage clothes. People would post lovely comments about my outfits and often ask me where to find them. My friends and boyfriend at the time would tell me I should start a blog which I never gave a second thought about until last year. Trying something new is always scary but a positive. I remember publishing my first post and absolutely cringing my head off thinking nobody is going to read it or think its a piece of poo. But from that post on wards and many more I have watched my stats and followers grow a lot in such a short space of time. I reached 10k on Instagram this year and I know that’s not a lot to some but I never even dreamed of reaching that amount of followers.


I know i’m still a baby in this big wide blogging world and it’s all still kinda new to me but having someone come up to me when i’m about and about to tell me they love and read my blog! Now that makes me happy. I love having this space to write and blab on to you guys whenever I feel the need to and I’ve always had lovely feedback.

So I’d like to say thankyou to whoever reads my blog, follows me on insta, and supports me in any way.

Take a break

Processed with VSCO with g3 presetTaking a break is something we should all do! whether it’s a week away or a couple of minutes of relaxation. Relaxing helps us to unwind our minds, improve our moods, improve disturbed sleep and helps us to have a clearer mind. It’s that time of the year again when exams and deadlines are taking place and the stress is real. I’m definitely feeling the stress and it’s hitting me hard for sure and for those who struggle with anxiety like me it sure as hell aint easy to be dealing with all the pressure. So TODAY I want you to take a little break from the stresses of the world and just let YOU be YOU. I’ve made a list of things that I find help me wind down and relax when I’m feeling stressed or anxious.

Spend time with pets: 

I have put this one first because its my favourite! There is nothing more therapeutic than spending time with an animal. When I’m feeling shitty I always turn to my cat for a big snuggle (depending what mood he is in, with cats being that sassy independent woman malarkey)

Listening to a guided meditation:

This is a tricky one to do, I’m still trying to get the hang of it after practicing for 2 years. You have to get into a daily routine to feel the full benefits of mindfulness/meditation and its pretty damn hard! However, listening to a few minutes of meditation is proven to make you feel a little better. If meditation isn’t for you maybe try to do some breathing exercises.

Write down 5 things that you like about yourself:

Yes, It’s difficult but you can do it. I know it’s really easy to write things down that you don’t like about yourself but take a few minutes to just think about the things you like. Whether it’s something you like about your personality or a feature on your face. DO IT.

Enjoy your own company:

This is another favourite of mine. Disconnect yourself and enjoy your own company. Read a book, go for a walk, go to a cafe or restaurant on your own, turn off your phone for a while, take a bath, take a nap, write something….. the list goes on. Spending time with yourself does not make you lonely or boring! If you can’t enjoy your own company then who will?


This is a really hard one for me. I never have the motivation to excerise and when I do push myself to do so, I don’t even enjoy it. But I sure do feel a lot better after it. I like to do a bit of yoga now and then because it’s not as intense and it also helps you to relax. I have been doing some sit ups every morning for the past few weeks and I can defintely see a diffierence in my stomach which makes me feel more body confident. Body confident = Happy

Watch something funny:

If your easily amused like me then this is a really easy one. After a stressful day I like to get in bed and watch some Karl Pilkington (or Cian Twomey vines) with a cup of tea. Speaking of tea, there’s many different types of tea out there that help you to relax such as camomile tea.

Listen to music:

Listen to music and dance!! shake that ass, twerk, slut drop, JUST DANCE! music is another thing I turn to when feeling meh, sometimes just sticking my earphones in and putting my Spotify on shuffle instantly makes me feel better.

Spend time with friends and family:

I know you feel like shying away from people when stressed or down, believe me I’m terrible for it. However, spending time with the people you love instantly gives you comfort. It doesn’t have to be in person, pick up the phone and call a friend or family member you havent spoken to in a while!

Treat yo’ self!

Yes! do it! buy yourself some flowers, buy a new outfit, take a hot bath or go get a facial.



Forcing a smile is proven to decrease stress. Yep, it’s true. I know a lot of us have problems with natural resting bitch faces but try smiling next time you walk past a stranger in the street! (unless you live in Manc or London, they might think you’re a nutter ha)

The White Pepper | SS16 Launch | London



Happy Monday strangers! Hope you all had a fab weekend. I have got myself into a lazy rut lately and I have been seriously neglecting my blog so I have decided to do a little post on my time in London last Thursday. I was delighted to be asked to take part in The White Pepper SS16 launch. I was sent some aaaaamazing pieces to model for the SS16 launch magazine (which you will see in later posts) and was also invited to the launch party in London. I’m taking you along with me to get an insight of what I did with my very limited time in London, hope you enjoy!

6:00 am: READY! (I did wash, eat breakfast ect but i’m sure you don’t want to know every detail haha)

6:40 am: On the coach preparing for a 5 hour journey! Not the best decision when i’m seriously travel sick but it was either £60 for the train or £20 for the coach eh? #skintstudentprobs Can you guess which book is mine?


11:30 am: Meg finding her bearings and a few ootd snaps!


1.00pm: Being tourists!

4:30 pm – 7:00 pm: Met up with our lovely friend Vicky for some hot chocolate and girl chat!


7.00pm: The White Pepper SS16 launch party! *drools over SS16 collection* lots of lovely treats, cocktails, music and fashion chit chat, cactus’s, palm trees… parrots!!

The rest is history aka we were too exhausted to take any more pictures and we had to catch our last coach home at 11:30pm!
