Hey hey! I thought I would write-up a quick post for you today on how I stay inspired and hopefully it may help you to stay inspired too. A few weeks ago I was ill, I couldn’t go out the house much so I was basically either in a hospital bed or in my own bed/couch. I started to feel really shitty about myself and my blog. I wasn’t able to get any posts written up because I couldn’t go out and get photo shoots done and I was surrounded by either my own home or nurses and other people who were ill. Don’t get me wrong I’m always truly inspired and amazed by nurses and doctors and what they do for us but I couldn’t help but stare down at my snot green hospital socks whilst hooked to a drip and think ‘I NEED SOME INSPIRATION, I AM GOING INSANE!’
HUMANS HAVE LAYERS!
Ello again, so as I promised here is part 2 of my collaboration with Accessorize and this little camera bag is just the cutest thing ever! This bag is ready to take you into spring with its applique flowers and small compartments because all we need is our camera’s and a lipstick for lovely spring days right? The bag also comes in the colour cream and it definitely puts a key focus to any outfit. The bag comes with its original strap but I opted for the floral embroidered cream strap also from the Eclectic Bloom collection. It goes beautifully with the Navy bag and adds that extra detail. They also have a variety of super cute printed silk scarves that look great tied around the strap of the bag or just simply around the neck. SO, get yourself down to accessorize (or online) and purchase your bag of dreams OR even just to have a nosey and drool over the beautiful florals before they go, because I’m tellin ya they will!
Hello stranger! I’m back. I’ve been super busy with other exciting things that I’ve not had much time to blog. Today’s post is all about you, getting to know me a little bit more. I’ve had my blog over a year now so I think it’s time to throw in some facts about me! I warn you, they’re not very exciting…
1. My full name is Starr Shannon Clare. However, still to this day people call me ‘Clare’ and I’m not sure why haha. YES MY NAME IS STARR.
2. My birthday is the 25th of November and I was born in 1995 which makes me 21.
3. I was born and live in Manchester.
4. I was named after a girl vampire in the 80’s film ‘The Lost Boys’ (very cool film, you should watch it!)
5. My favourite colour to wear is red, it makes me feel sassy and confident. It’s such a girl power colour!
6. If you didn’t know this already I’m obsessed with cats, CATS RULE THE WORLD.
7. I have a pet cat named Flash.
8. I have 12 tattoos and regret almost every one of them apart from my cat ones lol.
9. I eat tuna out of the can and I love it! is that gross? (it basically makes me a cat anyway)
Lets be honest, embroidery has been around for a while and it was pretty popular in the 70’s and 80’s when girls would wear embroidery on their denim jeans/jacket and the mods and rockers would spice up their leather and parkas with embroidery patches. Early 2015 we saw embroidery back on the catwalk looking better than ever. From long floral boho dresses to bomber jackets covered in dreamy stitching. Many designers such as Chloe, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen hopped on the embroidery trend and now its seen everywhere! Not just on runway models but celebrities, fashion bloggers and everyday people are rockin’ this look.

Hello, it’s me! How is it Monday again already wahh 😦 I had such a lovely weekend with the most amazing people! It was really lovely bumping into old friends and getting to know others that I don’t know so well. My weekend was full of dancing, singing, laughing and lots of alcohol, which I needed as I was feeling a little crappy this weekend. I’m still feeling the effects of Saturday now. Like, why do I have the hangovers of a 50 year old man? I’m still a baby, surely I should have a super human body.
Firstly i’m reallllllly sorry for like wearing this coat on most of my blog posts, I do own other coats I promise. It’s the only coat that actually keeps me warm!! and it was absolutely freezing that day. You know them coats that look all fury and cosy and you try it on and it doesn’t even keep you warm? This is why I have trust issues with coats and usually just stick with the one I know best (bit like when I choose boys, sorry) Anyway, today I’ve gone all monochrome on ya which is unusual for me as I like to have a lot of colour in my outfits and don’t tend to be all matchy matchy.
Starting with this black and white star print shirt. I got this shirt off ebay for £4! and it looks lovely right? (also matches my name hehehe) but don’t be fooled! It took at least a month to be delivered which didn’t surprise me in the slightest as it’s from China but after 10 minutes of wearing it the buttons were starting to fall off and the material is so so thin. I know things are cheaply made in China but I didn’t expect the shirt to give up on me that quick! Luckily it lasted through the shoot which was what I needed. But like I said it still looks good right? so at least there is one positive.
I styled the shirt with my black high waisted flares from ASOS which I loved and talked about on previous posts. I just love how they elongate my teeny weeny lil legs. Sticking with the monochrome theme I chose a black skinny scarf and fedora hat for accessories, black pointed suede boots a sheepskin coat. It’s so hard to tell you what I like about my outfit when it’s just black and white as I’m so used to describing the colours and details of my outfits so i’m terribly sorry if this post is a little bland BUT there is still a hint of 70’s in there which is always a YES from me! 🙂
Warming up, Brrrr!
Good afternoon ladies and gents! can we first just take a moment to appreciate how amazing this Peruvian cape/poncho is! I spotted this cape when looking in the Cow vintage sale and with words of their own ‘You can’t be unhappy in em’. I had my eyes on it from the start. I rushed over and picked it up straight away to check the price tag, £8!! it was mine. I clung onto it tightly like a baby in my arms whilst looking around the rest of the shop because no one was taking my baby! Its a gorgeous rust colour with metallic embroidery and a fringed hem line. It has a collar with a tie, 2 pockets and arm holes. I’m literally sat wearing it now whilst I type this, its keeping me warm and cosy and I feel like a super hero with powers or at least a cool as fuck hippy at Stonehenge in the 1970’s.
I have paired my cape with a 70’s style turtle neck as I thought it matched really nicely underneath the cape. This turtle neck is stripey, glittery and has 70s vibes which if you follow me on Instagram you will know that these are 3 of my favourite things! I got this off Depop and it came without a tag so i’m not sure where its actually from. However it’s super snug and I do love how it hugs my petite frame.
To finish off my look I added some black flares, a statement pointed boot and a fedora hat. These flares are amazing at elongating the legs espcecially if your a tiny 5″3 like me! The all black narrow flare gives you the illusion of a longer leg and that’s just what I needed. These are from the ASOS petite range and are a lovely stretchy viscose material.
Hope you enjoy, i’m off to save the universe in my cape!
