3 DAYS | 3 LOOKS | TRAMLINES FESTIVAL

FASHION

Hey hey! I’ve been trying to find a wifi that works all day as my internet is down at home.. I’ve had everything from a KFC Krushem, Greggs tea, McDonalds Frappe and now currently sipping on a cup of tea in Ezra &Gil ahhhh! So, I’m kindly being sent away to Tramlines Festival as a #FesticketInsider this weekend, a festival I haven’t been to yet but a festival that always has a great line up! To be honest, I’ve got the best line up this year because Libertines!! oh and Primal Scream! And we can’t forget the This Feeling line up, a line up of the best up and coming bands. Also Sheffield is pretty great and our air bnb has a cat so I’m pretty much in for the best weekend. I thought I would take you along with me starting with some festival outfit ideas. They are three very different looks but ideal for rain or shine!

Look 1.

The boho chic is a popular festival look and is continuously seen on the likes of Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. The white crochet dress is perfect for festivals, it’s lightweight, summery and what’s better than crochet to wear at a festival?! Feeling a little chilly? Throw on a biker jacket or a suede tassel jacket . Tassels immediately scream FESTIVAL in my face. You and your tassels will be dancing in the field like a free spirit. Throw on some jewellery, a fedora and some biker/western boots and you’re ready to go flower child!

How to stay inspired

FASHION, LIFESTYLE

Hey hey! I thought I would write-up a quick post for you today on how I stay inspired and hopefully it may help you to stay inspired too. A few weeks ago I was ill, I couldn’t go out the house much so I was basically either in a hospital bed or in my own bed/couch. I started to feel really shitty about myself and my blog. I wasn’t able to get any posts written up because I couldn’t go out and get photo shoots done and I was surrounded by either my own home or nurses and other people who were ill. Don’t get me wrong I’m always truly inspired and amazed by nurses and doctors and what they do for us but I couldn’t help but stare down at my snot green hospital socks whilst hooked to a drip and think ‘I NEED SOME INSPIRATION, I AM GOING INSANE!’

“What is your personal style?”

FASHION

32219181733What is your personal style? A question I get asked a lot in interviews and a question I can never fully answer. When I think about this question, something comes to mind that I don’t actually have a personal style and to be honest I’ve never had one. Ever since I got into fashion I never wanted to dress the exact same as someone else, I never had a fixed style. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always had my style icons, Debbie Harry, Anna Karina, Alexa Chung etc.. but they’re just celebs that I look to for outfit inspo if I’m feeling uninspired. I would pick parts of Debbie Harry’s style but then I would also pick parts of somebody elses style and then put my own twist on it. I still do that today, but now I’m dressing more for me, rather than dressing to just look ‘cool’ or ‘ vintage’. I dress in clothes that flatter my figure and that make me look like the best ME. I know what doesn’t look good on me and what does, I think that’s the most important thing when it come to fashion. I’m a teeny 5’2 and a half (haha I had to add that half in) which means I know to wear skirts and dresses that come above the knee to elongate my legs. I can’t wear those dreamy bohemian maxi dresses because I literally look like I’m wearing a potato sack that is trailing along the floor collecting up dust. I don’t do too well with some cropped jeans because I feel they cut my legs off even more. However kick flares are a god send!! and booties above the ankle are an absolute no go for me! #cankle probs.

Accessorize ‘Eclectic Bloom’ Collection | Look 2

HUMANS HAVE LAYERS!

Ello again, so as I promised here is part 2 of my collaboration with Accessorize and this little camera bag is just the cutest thing ever! This bag is ready to take you into spring with its applique flowers and small compartments because all we need is our camera’s and a lipstick for lovely spring days right? The bag also comes in the colour cream and it definitely puts a key focus to any outfit. The bag comes with its original strap but I opted for the floral embroidered cream strap also from the Eclectic Bloom collection. It goes beautifully with the Navy bag and adds that extra detail. They also have a variety of super cute printed silk scarves that look great tied around the strap of the bag or just simply around the neck. SO, get yourself down to accessorize (or online) and purchase your bag of dreams OR even just to have a nosey and drool over the beautiful florals before they go, because I’m tellin ya they will!

Making the decision to become a pescetarian

LIFESTYLE

So, I’ve decided to become a pescetarian! purely because of 2 reasons! 1. I wanted to take on a new challenge and 2. Because I watched the video to The Smiths – Meat Is Murder and I never want to eat meat again. The way some of them treat animals is speechless. I had no words but only tears for those poor animals. I always had an idea what happened to those animals but I always shoved it to the back of my mind and never really thought about it when I was eating meat. I know pescetarian isn’t the same as vegetarian and I know fish are basically animals too but I’m not ready to take on the full vegetarian challenge just yet. Fish is one of the things that I eat quite a lot as it gives me the vitamins and omega 3 I need which I don’t get from my awful diet.

Hello strangers! sorry that I disappeared for a while. Today’s post is going to be a pretty delayed new years post and a pretty long one so grab a cuppa! I started the new year with a nasty cold and on top of that a hangover (new year, same old me lol). I’ve also been building my own website for something exciting which I’ll talk about later. So yeah, they are some of the reasons to why I’ve been missing lately. Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely new year and well done to those who are sticking to new years resolutions, even if it is only the 8th of January. To those who are having the January blues and don’t really have any resolutions, not to worry!! It’s quite normal for some people to feel down in the dumps and hopeless when it comes to a new year.

Embroidered Dreams

Lets be honest, embroidery has been around for a while and it was pretty popular in the 70’s and 80’s when girls would wear embroidery on their denim jeans/jacket and the mods and rockers would spice up their leather and parkas with embroidery patches. Early 2015 we saw embroidery back on the catwalk looking better than ever. From long floral boho dresses to bomber jackets covered in dreamy stitching. Many designers such as Chloe, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen hopped on the embroidery trend and now its seen everywhere! Not just on runway models but celebrities, fashion bloggers and everyday people are rockin’ this look.

Simple OOTD

Baker Boy Cap – Vintage (similar here) | Top – Primark | Mom Jeans – Topshop | Sandals – Primark (similar here) | Fishnet Socks – ASOS

Hey hey hey! Today is a simple OOTD post. Something I would wear usually for a catch up with the girls or a day at college.

Starting with the top. The top is basically the layered slip/cami dress trend but in top form. This little number is only from Primark and is as cheap as £6! Its a little striped T with a black slip attached. However, I unattached them both to give the top a bit more movement and let it hang freely as I thought it was a tad high up. I paired it with some relaxed mom jeans and a strap sandal because there is nothing worse than walking around all day with sore feet and a wedgie haha! Under the sandals I wore some fishnet socks which are definitely on trend right now and they are soooooo affordable! adding some fishnet socks to your mules or sandals just gives it that extra bit of spice and bad ass vibe. To finish my look off I wore a simple baker boy cap and I know, your probably sick of seeing the sight of this hat now but it’s a hat that I love and it can make a simple outfit look like you have made a lot more effort.

Monochrome

Hat – Ebay/ Skinny scarf – Boohoo/ Shirt – Ebay/ Flares – ASOS/ Boots – Boohoo/Coat – Vintage

Hello, it’s me! How is it Monday again already wahh 😦 I had such a lovely weekend with the most amazing people! It was really lovely bumping into old friends and getting to know others that I don’t know so well. My weekend was full of dancing, singing, laughing and lots of alcohol, which I needed as I was feeling a little crappy this weekend. I’m still feeling the effects of Saturday now. Like, why do I have the hangovers of a 50 year old man? I’m still a baby, surely I should have a super human body.

Firstly i’m reallllllly sorry for like wearing this coat on most of my blog posts, I do own other coats I promise. It’s the only coat that actually keeps me warm!! and it was absolutely freezing that day. You know them coats that look all fury and cosy and you try it on and it doesn’t even keep you warm? This is why I have trust issues with coats and usually just stick with the one I know best (bit like when I choose boys, sorry) Anyway, today I’ve gone all monochrome on ya which is unusual for me as I like to have a lot of colour in my outfits and don’t tend to be all matchy matchy.

Starting with this black and white star print shirt. I got this shirt off ebay for £4! and it looks lovely right? (also matches my name hehehe) but don’t be fooled! It took at least a month to be delivered which didn’t surprise me in the slightest as it’s from China but after 10 minutes of wearing it the buttons were starting to fall off and the material is so so thin. I know things are cheaply made in China but I didn’t expect the shirt to give up on me that quick! Luckily it lasted through the shoot which was what I needed. But like I said it still looks good right? so at least there is one positive.

I styled the shirt with my black high waisted flares from ASOS which I loved and talked about on previous posts. I just love how they elongate my teeny weeny lil legs. Sticking with the monochrome theme I chose a black skinny scarf and fedora hat for accessories, black pointed suede boots a sheepskin coat. It’s so hard to tell you what I like about my outfit when it’s just black and white as I’m so used to describing the colours and details of my outfits so i’m terribly sorry if this post is a little bland BUT there is still a hint of 70’s in there which is always a YES from me! 🙂

Enjoy
