Embroidered Dreams

Lets be honest, embroidery has been around for a while and it was pretty popular in the 70’s and 80’s when girls would wear embroidery on their denim jeans/jacket and the mods and rockers would spice up their leather and parkas with embroidery patches. Early 2015 we saw embroidery back on the catwalk looking better than ever. From long floral boho dresses to bomber jackets covered in dreamy stitching. Many designers such as Chloe, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen hopped on the embroidery trend and now its seen everywhere! Not just on runway models but celebrities, fashion bloggers and everyday people are rockin’ this look.

To me, embroidery screams hippy flower child right in my face and it gives me a sense of being free. I’ve always had a bit of boho chick in me, especially when it comes to summer and festivals. I like to wear my long florals dresses with feathers in my hair (I’d definitely be the gal to go to Woodstock in 1969) This dress I’m wearing was sent to me in collaboration with Free People. Free people are a clothing boutique that focuses on the Bohemian trend. They have a free app you can download where you can buy items or get inspiration from fashion people all over the world. Since I downloaded the app I have found so much outfit inspiration and although some of the items are not in my price range i’m literally clicking on everything and adding them to my wish list haha!

I was so made up when I received this dress, it’s definitely one of the prettiest dresses I own. I honestly love everything about it!! The cropped subtle trumpet sleeves, the crochet detailing and how the blue and pink floral embroidery looks against the mustard colour! Oh so so dreamy. They also kindly sent me a few other items that I can’t wait to share with you but until then it’s peace and love from me.
